Trent Williams Reporting to Redskins But Doesn't Plan on Playing This Year

The NFL's trade deadline has come and gone, and even though there was plenty of speculation that some of the top players around the league could be moved, pretty much nothing happened.

That includes Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams staying put, but there's more news surrounding the veteran. According to reports, he's ending his holdout and returning to the team...

...but he doesn't plan on playing a down.

Williams decided not to participate in Washington's training camp and the first eight games of the season because he was upset with how the team's medical staff. He's now reporting back to the team to likely salvage the remaining money on his contract for the remainder of the season, and who can blame him?

There's no sense in him taking the field for a 1-7 team that has no chance of doing anything and can't even figure out its own QB situation.

Expect Williams to be dealt in the offseason when teams are willing to send Washington a bit less in return after the tackle's value diminishes.
