4 Best Trade Destinations for Redskins OL Trent Williams

After refusing to play last season for the Washington Redskins following their handling of a cancerous growth, left tackle Trent Williams has been given the chance to facilitate a trade. His year off from the NFL has done little to dent his value, and these four teams should be ready to part with some lower-round draft picks in order to secure the services of one of the best tackles in the game.

4. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers pilfered a perennial Pro Bowler in Trai Turner from the Carolina Panthers, but the deal cost Los Angeles a left tackle in Russell Okung. Rather than look to a rookie to answer all their offensive line questions, the Chargers could look for a veteran options as they send a few picks Washington's way in exchange for Williams.

3. New York Jets

The Jets struggled to do much of anything on offense under Adam Gase last season. Part of that is Gase himself, but the fact their offensive line was horrid in every sense of the word didn't help. Kelvin Beachum and Chuma Edoga are simply not skilled enough to be Sam Darnold's blindside protector. Williams, however, is a rock solid, experienced tackle that can keep Darnold safe and open up holes for Le'Veon Bell in the running game.

2. Denver Broncos

Denver appears to have found their starting quarterback in Drew Lock, but the line protecting the immobile 6-4 passer needs some work. Garrett Bolles once again failed to make the leap the Broncos needed him to make, and his roster spot next season is far from guaranteed. The Broncos have the draft capital to make this work, and Williams going to Denver could help them nab a Wild Card spot in the AFC.

1. Cleveland Browns

Given how their left tackle last season was Greg Robinson, an underperforming bust who thought traveling with 157 pounds of marijuana was a reasonable decision, the Browns need a major upgrade on that line to protect Baker Mayfield. The Browns' offensive line coach is Bill Callahan, who was Washington's interim head coach last season and their offensive line coach since 2015. That familiarity with Williams could be an important factor that forces Kevin Stefanski to pull the trigger and solidify the right side of their offensive line.
