VIDEO: Trevor Bauer and Other MLB Players Relentlessly Trolled Astros in Sandlot Wiffle Ball Game
By Scott Rogust
MLB action is currently on hold due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. With Spring Training on hold and Opening Day delayed, that means the league-wide resentment for the Houston Astros over their cheating scandal has been put on hold, too. That didn't stop Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer from coming up with an idea of holding a sandlot wiffle ball game with interested colleagues, which included Cleveland Indians pitcher Mike Clevinger and Reds second baseman Derek Dietrich. The contest was held on Saturday evening, and it contained plenty of action... and jabs at the Astros organization.
Plenty of trash cans were seen, and bangs on said receptacles were heard. Bauer himself actually wore Astros sneakers to continue the trolling.
Bauer was one of the more outspoken members of the MLB community in expressing fury over the Astros being caught using illegal electronic methods to steal signs throughout their 2017 championship season. Even though there is no hard evidence of wrongdoing from the Astros organization in the 2018 and 2019 campaigns, Bauer wasn't convinced, of course, and took to many platforms to express his displeasure with Houston.
While the 2020 regular season is on hold until further notice, Bauer is reminding you that the Astros cheated to win their first-ever Commissioner's Trophy -- and that you shouldn't forget it once things resume.
