VIDEO: Trevor Bauer Confronts Sign-Stealing by Telling Hitter Exactly What Pitch is Coming in Funny Troll
By Mark Powell

Give Trevor Bauer credit, he's willing to try new things. The outspoken Reds righty has been on the cutting edge of all things sign-stealing this offseason, and offers opinions on just about any issue in the MLB rulebook. On Monday, Bauer decided to skip the theatrics altogether, and just told batters what pitch he was throwing. Yes, we mean that literally.

Bauer did so with some success, also, as Matt Beaty still couldn't catch up to his pitches and ended up flying out to center field. Beaty was a test case, of course, and Bauer did not do this against every batter he faced. If anything, though, Beaty proving unable to get on base under pressure proves that while sign-stealing gives hitters a distinct advantage, there's no guarantee it works. Maybe Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve aren't so bad, after all?

Nah. But we respect this troll from Bauer, who's just trying to have some fun with this entire affair which has been a black eye on the rest of baseball.
