Cincinnati Reds starter Trevor Bauer and MLB commissioner Rob Manfred are like oil and water, and the pair still seem to be on extremely poor terms after Bauer hosted a charity wiffle ball game while the MLB is shut down due to coronavirus concerns. Bauer claims that Manfred never responded to him after the former asked if he was violating any written or unwritten bylaws by staging this game, even though Bauer claims Manfred gave him his phone number and e-mail directly.

Bauer, who has become a minor enemy of Manfred's due to his constant criticism of the sport and Manfred's role in making the game into what it's become in 2020, seemed to have patched things up with the commissioner after a meeting between the two parties. Apparently, though, the two still have quite the frosty relationship.

Bauer's wiffle ball game benefitted game-day staff across baseball who currently face an uncertain working future due to the coronavirus removing their income. Bauer just wanted to make sure he wasn't breaking any rules by staging this game, but Manfred never got back to him.

Bauer is never going to stop saying what is on his mind, which could lead to a few more run-ins with Manfred. The next time Manfred gives an update on where the 2020 season is headed, expect Bauer to be among the first to chime in with their own personal thoughts.
