Troy Polamalu and Reggie Wayne Announced as Hall of Fame Finalists in First Year of Eligibility

The Pro Football Hall of Fame voting process is underway Saturday as the finalists will be reduced from 15 down to five who will ultimately be inducted.
There are plenty of talented players on the ballot and two men in their first year of eligibility could be selected for enshrinement -- former Steeler Troy Polamalu and Colts' great Reggie Wayne.
Two players are finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility:

* Troy Polamalu: 2x Super Bowl champ, 6X All Pro, 8x Pro Bowl, 2010 NFL DPOY
* Reggie Wayne: Super Bowl champ, 3x All Pro, 6x Pro Bowl, top 10 all-time in catches & receiving yards
Polamalu and Wayne were both stars throughout long careers in the league and it's hard to argue with either being named a 2020 inductee, even in their first year of eligibility.
Polamalu spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he won two Super Bowls and made eight Pro Bowls across a 12-year career.

Wayne spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts, though he did sign a contract with the New England Patriots at the end of his career. He backed out before playing in a game.
The wide receiver made six Pro Bowls and was one of Peyton Manning's top targets with the Colts.
Even if the two superstars don't make it in their first year, you can bet your bottom dollar they'll both be inducted into Canton at some point in the future.
