Tua Tagovailoa Responds to Hilarious 'Longest Yard' Tweet From Actor Nick Turturro
By Jerry Trotta
If you've never seen "The Longest Yard," you are seriously missing out on a classic football movie. The 2005 film is so significant that it still resonates to this day...even though it's for an unusual reason.
Former Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa, who was selected No. 5 overall by the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft, just so happens to look like a carbon copy of one of the characters -- Brucie -- the prisoners' awful reserve player.
Well, Nick Turturro, the actor who played Brucie, acknowledged the uncanny resemblance in a hilarious side-by-side tweet of the character and Tagovailoa in a Dolphins jersey.
If we didn't know any better, we'd say the two are related.
For those wondering if Tua played along, the new Miami quarterback did just that as he responded in perfect fashion by hyping up Brucie, who was the fan favorite of the film despite being a disaster of a football player.
This is exactly the type of post-Draft content we want to see. If Tagovailoa keeps up his superb Twitter game he'll continue to grow in popularity throughout the NFL. It's hard to improve upon this post, but we have faith in the 22-year-old stud.
