Twins Acquire Outfielder Ryan LaMarre From Braves for Cash Considerations
By Mark Powell

The MLB Trade Deadline passed long ago, yet contenders are still making moves to bolster their rosters via waivers. As always, there's a way to work around the rules.
The Twins are lacking outfield depth, and had an open roster spot after the Michael Pineda suspension for PEDs. Thankfully for Minnesota, they were able to land the services of Braves outfielder Ryan LaMarre for cash considerations.

None of us know who LaMarre is, and that's totally justified. He's spent the entire season raking at Triple-A to the tune of 311/.380/.477 with nine home runs in 126 games.
LaMarre is set to be added to the Twins 40-man roster despite his lack of major league experience this season, and he's proven his ability to drive in runs at the minor league level.

That's right. The #Braves GM is so good, he can make trades after the trade deadline. #Booyah pic.twitter.com/UqKE0lNVxx
If you're still trying to figure out how the MLB waiver deadline works, we don't blame you. Rob Manfred and Co. supposedly put a hard cap on this year's deadline, meaning moves couldn't be made after July 31. While LaMarre heading to the Twin Cities is rather insignificant, it still leaves us scratching our heads.
