Last offseason, Josh Donaldson bet on himself by signing a one-year, 23 million deal with the Atlanta Braves.

Following a massive rebound year which saw the 34-year-old hit .259 with 37 homers and 94 RBI, the 2015 AL MVP is no longer looking to sign a "prove-it" deal, like the one he inked for the 2019 season.

With the Braves and Nationals once thought to be the frontrunners in the Donaldson sweepstakes, a new bidder has emerged in the Minnesota Twins.

With a four-year offer reportedly on the table from Minnesota, it would be surprising for Donaldson to settle for anything less at this point. Approaching his mid-30s, this will likely be Donaldson's last big contract, so you have to think he's going to want as many years of financial security as he can get.

There had been mentions of a "mystery team" involved in talks with Donaldson for some time now, with many assuming it to be the Philadelphia Phillies. However, we know now that it's the reigning AL Central champs, who could very well convince the slugger to pack his bags for the Twin Cities.

With all three reported Donaldson suitors coming off of playoff berths, it's clear he's a valued asset for contending teams. Thanks to his massive bounce-back season in 2019, Donaldson has once again established himself as one of the league's best power bats, which will reward him nicely.
