Longtime Twins Hitter Trevor Plouffe Shares Supposed MLB Return Date and It's Great News for Fans
By Michael Luciano
The month of May is just starting, and we have yet to see a single MLB game played due to the spread of the coronavirus. Fans desperate for any good news should be relieved to hear that the league is considering returning over the summer, according to Trevor Plouffe.
The former Minnesota Twins third baseman and current Jomboy Media podcaster thinks that a revamped form of Spring Training will start on June 10, while "Opening Day" will take place on July 1.
Plouffe seems to think that all MLB teams will play games at their home stadium, as opposed to one heavily-quarantined location in Florida or Arizona, as had been previously discussed.
If any kernel of what Plouffe is reporting is true, baseball fans might get their 2020 season saved early enough to feel as though they had a meaty enough regular season before the playoffs.
Plouffe's transition from player to talking head means he might be decently sourced, and it is certainly extremely encouraging news if the MLB is considering moving forward with this plan, but the hay isn't in the barn yet. Stay inside until you hear someone official say baseball is coming back.
