What a week it was for these two sluggers.

The MLB has announced that Twins' youngster Max Kepler and Rockies' superstar Nolan Arenado took home AL and NL Player of the Week honors, respectively. Both were deserving winners who put up monster numbers over the past week.

Kepler has been a driving force in the Twins' early season success, providing 12 home runs and 33 RBI in just 47 games. Their 36-17 record is tops in the MLB right now, and in large part they have Kepler to thank for it.

Arenado has also been his usual dominant self this season. After three straight years of finishing in the top five in MVP voting, he's having his best season yet, batting .336 with 15 home runs and on track to win his fifth straight Gold Glove.

If it weren't for Cody Bellinger's historic start to the season, Arenado would likely be a top candidate to finally secure the NL MVP this year. Bellinger's remarkable 1.229 OPS on the season is better than both Kepler's and Arenado's OPS this week, and they were the best players in the MLB over that span.

Still, props to both Arenado and Kepler for their outstanding performances this week.
