Twins Place Star Pitcher Jake Odorizzi on 10-Day IL With Blister

It's the return of the infamous blister, only this time, Aaron Sanchez and Rich Hill aren't the ones plagued by the irritable ailment.
Instead, it's Minnesota Twins hurler Jake Odorizzi, as the right-hander was placed on the 10-day Injured List with a blister on his middle finger.
Odorizzi was pulled from his start Tuesday, though not before surrendering a grand slam to catcher Chris Herrmann.
This could be a significant blow for the Twins, though the blister isn't likely to keep him sidelined for too long. He had a tremendous month of May, during which he logged a 0.94 ERA with 31 strikeouts over 28.2 innings of work, culminating in a 4-0 record.
On the season, Odorizzi has a 3.15 ERA, inflated by his rough outing on Tuesday night, to go with 96 strikeouts in 88.2 innings and a 10-4 record across 17 starts.
The ailment will keep the 29-year-old hurler sidelined through the All-Star break, though he's expected to be at 100 percent for the second half of the campaign.
The former Tampa Bay Ray was having a career year in Minnesota, his second season with the team. He'll look to carry his strong first half into the final months of the season, as the Twins are gearing up for a World Series run.
