Twins Reportedly Pursuing 3 Top Veteran Starters in Free Agency
By Jerry Trotta
The Minnesota Twins are in serious need of starting pitching help. There's simply no denying that.
We all know that their offense, despite their tendency to crumble in the postseason, will be imposing once again in 2020.
Well, it appears the team's front office agrees with the aforementioned sentiment, as MLB insider Jon Heyman reports the organization is pursuing Madison Bumgarner, Dallas Keuchel and Hyun-Jin Ryu.
The fact that the Twins are showing significant interest in all three hurlers comes as a bit of a surprise when you consider that Jake Odorizzi accepted a one-year qualifying offer for $17.8 million to remain with the club and Michael Pineda is returning on a two-year, $20 million deal.
Perhaps they're looking to give 25-year-old Jose Berrios some help at the top of the rotation with a veteran pitcher who boasts previous postseason experience.
The progress that Minnesota has made in talks with Ryu, Keuchel, or Bumgarner remains to be seen, but with the Winter Meetings officially underway in San Diego, things can change in a heartbeat.
Therefore, stay tuned for updates regarding the Twins' quest to bolster the unit.
