VIDEO: Twins Top Prospect Royce Lewis Laces Leadoff Double for First Spring Training Hit
By Jack Murphy
Spring Training games are finally here and we are one step closer to Opening Day. The Minnesota Twins had a matchup against the NCAA's Minnesota Golden Gophers on Friday night, and they deployed a lineup consisting of prospects for the game. Well, top prospect Royce Lewis took advantage of his opportunity by lacing a leadoff double for his first spring training hit.
After an oblique injury kept Lewis sidelined for much of Spring Training last season, he took almost no time at all to register his first hit, albeit against college competition.
Baseball's No. 9 overall prospect, Lewis is hoping to reach the show in 2020 and he's off to a hot start with this double.
