Tyler Skaggs Autopsy Results Not Expected Until October
By Sam Dunn
The baseball world was brought to its knees this week with the news of the tragic passing of Tyler Skaggs. The Los Angeles Angels pitcher was found dead in his hotel room Monday in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area at the age of 27, and the sudden shock of his passing gave way to currently answerless questions about just what happened to him.
An autopsy will be performed on Skaggs, but according to the latest reports, results are not expected to be available until early October.
While that sounds like an unusual period of time, the medical examiner's office in Tarrant County, Texas stated that Skaggs' family requested that details from the autopsy until a final examination is performed, writes Gabe Lacques of USA Today.
Skaggs made his MLB debut for the Diamondbacks in 2012. He had been with the Angels organization since 2014, and was scheduled to pitch in July 4th.
