Tyrann Mathieu Lobbies for the Chiefs to Sign Chris Harris Jr. in Free Agency
The Kansas City Chiefs are still in the midst of celebrating a Super Bowl victory, but free agency is right around the corner and that means beginning the path toward a repeat.
Chris Harris Jr. is a prime free agent this offseason and Tyrann Mathieu is already on the recruiting trail.
The Broncos just traded for A.J. Bouye, which is not exactly a glowing endorsement of Harris. That likely prompted his tweet that was quoted by Mathieu.
Harris went a step further to let the Chiefs veteran know he would be open to joining the defending champs. That would only improve the Kansas City defense and would be a big blow for the Broncos to lose Harris to a division rival.
This type of social media banter doesn't go unnoticed and if Harris wants to join the Chiefs, the team may want to clear a bit of cap space, factoring in a future Patrick Mahomes mega-deal looms over the franchise until a contract is signed.
Until then Chiefs fans can get excited about the possibility of the defense getting even better in 2020.
