VIDEO: Tyreek Hill Clowns Denzel Ward With Long Bomb TD as 2nd Quarter Ends in Madden 20 Tournament
By Brady Williams
To help support coronavirus relief efforts, the Checkdown is hosting a Madden 20 tournament featuring NFL players from around the league. When Tyreek Hill and Denzel Ward (who has already taken some flak) played against one another, the matchup produced some gold. Check out Hill, playing as the Chicago Bears, launching a bomb to Taylor Gabriel to stun Ward at the end of the first half of their game.
A little trash talk never hurt anyone, and the last-second points amount to the most hilarious kind of devastation for Ward. "That hurts," indeed.
Hill had already beaten Tyrann Mathieu in the first round of the tournament, and he went on to crush Ward 41-21. His celebration was even better than the Checkdown's small window showed; the fleet-footed playmaker seems to be tackling this tournament with the same enthusiasm as the real thing.
It's great to see the Super Bowl winner back in action, even if it is in the virtual world. He's a favorite to win the tournament so far, and with that kind of viciously aggressive play calling, he's a shoo-in for a top spot. He'll have to face the winner between Derwin James and DeSean Jackson in the championship before he can call himself the best, however.
