UConn Reportedly Returning to the Big East Conference
By Sean Facey
After spending a breif period of time in the American Athletic Conference, the majority of the UConn Huskies' sports programs are on the move.
According to Dana O'Neil, UConn is expected to be added to the Big East. An announcement is expected later in the week.
The move marks a momentous shift for the school's basketball programs, who have dominated over their competitors for the majority of the past few decades, especially the women's team.
The shift is expected to take full effect in 2020.
UConn's football program, however, might have to find a new conference or play as an independent. The possibility of the team staying in the AAC is incredibly unlikely.
The transition has been considered for years now, and it seems that things are finally coming to fruition.
After a brief detour with the AAC, UConn is well on it's way to returning to it's roots by joining the Big East.
