UMBC Trolls Bryce Harper After Nationals Win World Series Without Him
By Chris Russo
Bryce Harper has been a popular target for gleeful barbas on Twitter ever since his former Washington Nationals won the World Series in their very first year following his departure. And the University of Maryland-Baltimore County is all too happy to join in.
UMBC Twitter has once again read all our minds and given us exactly what we wanted. Perhaps the Phillies need to get ready to make a trade in the interest of addition by subtraction?
The Retrievers are really hoping that Harper has officially set a trend. If it's true and Harper plays out the rest of his contract, Phillies fans might be waiting a while for another World Series title.
Either way, it's a fine burn, especially considering how many viral tweets about this World Series were simply about jabbing Harper.
So, will Harper enroll at UMBC? Can the Phillies trade Harper to the Orioles to help push things along?
Well, no and no. But let's remember that Philadelphia is only about a one-hour drive from B-More. Crazier things, after all, have happened-- remember when AJ Hinch willfully chose not to use Gerrit Cole in the most important game of the season?
