Umpire Sam Holbrook Who Called Absurd Infield Fly in 2012 Named Crew Chief for Braves-Cardinals NLDS

The Atlanta Braves were already going to have their hands full with the St. Louis Cardinals in their NLDS matchup, but it got even more interesting when MLB announced the umpiring crew for this best-of-five series.

None other than veteran umpire Sam Holbrook was named the Crew Chief for this series.

That's important to know because the last time Holbrook umpired a significant game between these two clubs was back in the 2012 NL Wild Card Game, and this travesty happened:

You want to get a Braves fan's blood to boil? Mention the "infield fly" and they'll go nuts. Even to this day I don't know how he made that call. That ball was hit in the OUTFIELD!

Let's just hope a game or series isn't decided by another absurd call coming from Holbrook or any of the other umpires in this series.
