UNC Head Coach Roy Williams Grew a Beard During Quarantine and His Players Love it
By Andrew Gullotta
Recent cabin fever has caused many sports figures to ditch the shaving cream in favor for growing out some facial hair. University of North Carolina Head Basketball Coach Roy Williams is the next in line, as he is starting to grow out his quarantine beard, against all odds.
In a Twitter post by Ross Martin, a college basketball analyst for Inside Carolina, Williams showed off to the college basketball world that he can not only coach, but also grow a mean beard!
2020 Senior Guard Brandon Robinson took to Twitter to approve of Coach Williams’ new look. Hopefully, this can give Robinson a smile after having his last season in powder blue end abruptly.
Williams has been known for his stylish powder blue and white suits over his 17 seasons coaching the Tar Heels. Now, he will look to start a new trend to go along with his signature look. It will be interesting to see if he brings this new look to the hardwood next season!
