North Carolina basketball is having the epitome of a down year this season at dead-last in the ACC, so it only makes sense that UNC football's future outlook has never looked better.

With their third signing in as many days and their fourth in the last six days, the Tar Heels reeled in a verbal commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Eli Sutton on Sunday as their 2021 recruiting class continues to get better and better.

UNC had a busy week on the recruiting trail having picked up four commits since Tuesday, including four-star quarterback Drake Maye's flipped commitment from... the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Sutton represents this North Carolina class' first out-of-state commit. UNC now has one 5-star and eight 4-stars a part of its upcoming recruiting class, thrusting them into the No. 4 spot of 247Sports' 2021 rankings. This puts North Carolina's class in the same realm as powerhouses Ohio State, Florida and Clemson, and ahead of Notre Dame.

A lot is bound to change between now and National Signing Day next February, but this is huge momentum for a UNC program led by a stud freshman QB in Sam Howell in 2019. Head coach Mack Brown hasn't skipped a beat in the recruiting game, and the fact that he's doing this in the heart of SEC country makes it all the more impressive.
