United States Barely Squeaking by Total Turkey Choke-Job is an Embarrassment of National Proportions
By Parker White

Team USA wasn't loaded for bear entering the FIBA World Cup, but their B and C squads are still better than most of what the world can offer. They're going to be big favorites throughout the tourney.
Especially against a Turkey team in the first round, whose best player is Ersan Ilyasova, a solid NBA player, but not the first scoring option for any team.
It took a choke job of epic proportions by Turkey to lose this game in overtime, missing four straight free throws with under nine seconds to seal a U.S. victory.

With the 93-92 overtime victory, the United States will advance to the second round of the World Cup. Their winning streak in World Cup and Olympic play is now at 44 games, but it could end anytime now as the competition gets stiffer.
I mean, outside of Kemba Walker and Khris Middleton, nobody showed up offensively and the big men were noticeably outplayed.

This game was a total embarrassment and something we haven't seen from USA basketball in who knows how long. They better hope this is just one game and they'll play at a higher level this weekend, especially after an ankle injury to Jayson Tatum.
If not, it'll be an early exit and something you won't be telling your kids about.
