Urban Meyer Just Changed His Pick to Win the CFP National Championship
By Sean Facey
One of the best former coaches in college football has made a change in who he thinks is going to win the CFP National Championship.
Former Ohio State Buckeyes play-caller Urban Meyer has abandoned his original pick, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and is instead rolling with the LSU Tigers to win it all this year.
Matt Leinart also has LSU winning it all. Apparently Joe Burrow has made a believer out of the both of them, and it's easy to see why. Burrow and the Tigers have cruised all year long. Sitting at No. 2 in the polls, they've won each of their games by at least seven points.
Two of their wins have come against top-10 opponents in Texas and Florida, and neither of them proved particularly tough to beat. The Tigers are averaging 52.5 points per game with Burrow under center, the highest mark in the nation. His abilities at the quarterback position have added a whole new level of depth to their offense.
Burrow has completed 79.6% of his passes for 2,157 yards this year, throwing for 25 touchdowns and just three interceptions. In fact, his 218.1 passer rating is a hair better than that of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
He's having a Heisman-caliber year on a team with one of the best defenses in all of college football. They've handled both of their ranked opponents in convincing fashion. Everything's clicking on all cylinders for them this year.
It's been extremely hard to pick against them in any game this year, and Meyer isn't going to anymore.
