Utah's Embarrassing Showing in Pac-12 Championship Proved Their Haters Right and That's Annoying

The Utah football program reached the No. 5 overall ranking and needed a win over Oregon to shut down the haters and reach the College Football Playoff.
The result was a 37-15 drubbing at the hands of Oregon, igniting the talks of how Utah never belonged in the playoff.
The CF Playoff Committee used their “eye test” to tell you that Utah was the 5th best and Alabama was 12th best, calling out one for lack of big wins in the best conference while celebrating another without big wins in a weak one.

Utah had only beaten one ranked opponent all season and that had plenty of college football fans wondering how the team was ranked so highly. Yet all the team had to do was prove the ranking right with a nice showing and a win over Oregon.
The supposedly tough Utah defense was shredded early on and it became clear that the Pac-12 was not getting a team in the Playoff this year. For a conference trying to prove its dominance, another year without a team in the CFP is not going to help the cause.

This marks the third consecutive season in which the Pac-12 won't be represented in the CFP. While discussions about expanding the pool to eight teams have been prevalent, Utah's inability to take down the Ducks on Friday only confirms the belief of their haters; they were never meant to be a playoff team.
