Some extremely serious allegations have been made against Utah Utes wide receiver Terrell Perriman.

According to KTVX, Perriman was taken into custody on Thursday and has been charged with kidnapping and rape, as well as enticing, soliciting, seducing and luring a minor via internet or text messages.

In the aftermath of the incident, Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham released a statement, in which he announced Perriman had been suspended immediately from all team activities.

"We were made aware of the very serious allegations involving a member of our football program and he was immediately suspended from all team activities," said Whittingham.

Per ABC4 News, the victim in the case is a 17-year-old female who reportedly met Perriman via Instagram and communicated with him through Snapchat. The teenager alleged to authorities that Perriman pressured her into sending him nude photos, and he had also sent her sexually explicit images and videos. She alleged the rape occurred at his apartment in Salt Lake City.

The redshirt freshman appeared in 10 games for the Utes in 2019, catching just two passes for nine yards, while also rushing the ball once for five yards.
