Vanessa Bryant's Instagram Post on Anniversary of Kobe's Final NBA Game is Utterly Heartbreaking

When NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant tragically passed on Jan. 26th, 2020, the world mourned the loss of an icon.

Immediately following, fans and fellow players alike swarmed social media to share support for the mourning family, specifically to Vanessa Bryant, wife of the late Kobe Bryant. Now Vanessa Bryant is using Instagram to share her pain with the world, and it's heartbreaking.

My husband worked his ass off for 20 years. Gave it his all. All he wanted was to spend time with our girls and me to make up for lost time. He wanted to be there for every single milestone and special moment in our girls lives. He only got to enjoy 3 years and 9 months of retirement. We had 2 more daughters, he won an Oscar, he opened Granity studios, he became a 5x best selling author and coached Gianna’s basketball team in that time. She worked hard and gave her all 7 days a week just like her daddy. I wish I could back to that morning, every day. I wish they had a normal local game on 1/26. Life truly isn’t fair. This is just senseless.

The post comes exactly four years after Kobe Bryant's unforgettable final game, in which the then 37 year-old did what only Kobe could, and dropped 60 points on the Utah Jazz.

Vanessa Bryant's pain is evident, and amplifies the pain the basketball world has been feeling since Kobe's passing. Fans and players alike broke down in tears when first hearing of Kobe's tragic loss, and have been in mourning since.

Kobe wasn't just a 18-time NBA All-Star and five-time NBA Champion, he was a husband and father as well.

Bryant was a girl dad, as he himself put it.

The loss of Kobe continues to resonate inside fans across the globe, but thankfully we can stand beside Vanessa and honor him the right way on Monday.
