VIDEO: Aaron Hicks Rips a Pinch-Hit Home Run to Tie the Game in the 8th Inning
By Scott Rogust
The New York Yankees held a 3-2 lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the bottom of the seventh inning of Friday's game. Yet, the Rays would take the lead, thanks to a two-run single from Kevin Kiermaier. The Yankees were not deterred, as in the very next inning, manager Aaron Boone sent in Aaron Hicks to pinch-hit for Mike Tauchman. The result? Hicks hit a solo home run to right field to tie the game at 4-4.
With the loaded batting order, you can never count out the New York Yankees. Hicks' blast was his seventh of the season as the outfielder is starting to heat up at the plate of late.
