VIDEO: Aaron Hicks Saves Game for the Yankees With Incredible Full Extension Diving Catch in Extras
By Mark Powell
Aaron Hicks, superhero? The Yankees outfielder delivered in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Twins in what can only be described as the best game of the baseball season thus far, drilling the first pitch he saw for a 2-run shot to give New York the lead. While that advantage would be relinquished by closer Aroldis Chapman, Hicks made sure that once the Bombers took the lead into the 10th, they wouldn't fall victim to a similar fate.
In a potential postseason preview, Hicks saved the game and some sleep for viewers on the East Coast. Hicks' performance was extra sweet as well considering he was acquired from Minnesota in 2015 for catcher John Ryan Murphy. Think they regret that one?
