VIDEO: Aaron Hicks Suffers Elbow Injury While Making Throw to 3rd Base and Will Undergo MRI Sunday
By Karl Rasmussen

As if the Yankees injury-riddled season couldn't get any worse. After losing Edwin Encarnacion to the injured list after the slugger fractured his wrist, another member of the squad may be soon to join. Aaron Hicks reportedly suffered an elbow injury while making a throw to third base in the Yankees' second game of their doubleheader against the Red Sox. He will undergo an MRI on Sunday.
Here is the throw Hicks got injured on. Was a nice throw.

The way Boone was talking about it... in my interpretation... Boone knows its something bad... elbow aint good pic.twitter.com/WiX8cTbfwT
This could be a big blow for the Yankees, despite the sizable lead they've managed to build in the AL East. With Edwin hitting the IL, and Hicks possibly on the way there as well, the already-weakened lineup which is lacking Gary Sanchez and Giancarlo Stanton could be hurt ever further.

Hicks started the year on the IL and didn't make his 2019 debut until May 15. It would be disappointing to see the outfielder, who signed a lucrative seven-year deal over the offseason, wind up back on the shelf.
Hicks is slashing just .229/.319/.440 across 58 games this season. He has 11 home runs and 36 RBI, serviceable numbers considering the amount of time he missed and the rust he had to shake off.
