VIDEO: Aaron Hicks Swats Yankees into the Lead at Tropicana Field

It's America's Day of independence, and to celebrate the occasion, Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks decided that he was going to get declare his team independent of a tied ballgame. With things knotted up 1-1 against the Rays at Tropicana Field, he roped one down the right field line and took care of business.

The two-bagger scored Mike Tauchman, who had just tied the game up moments before with a well-placed single.
The Yanks can extend their AL East lead over Tampa Bay to 7.5 games with a win. At this rate, you've got to like their odds. Enjoy the fireworks, baseball fans.
