VIDEO: Adam Haseley Collects 1st MLB Hit With Knock to Give Phillies a Late Lead
By Michael Luciano
Well, that couldn't have come at a better time. Called up in the wake of Andrew McCutchen's season-ending knee injury, Philadelphia Phillies top prospect Adam Haseley slapped his first career hit off of San Diego Padres reliever Craig Stammen. Haseley's RBI gave the Phillies a 6-5 lead in the eighth inning.
Picked eighth overall in the 2017 MLB draft out of Virginia, Haseley is a pure a hitter as they come. He was able to show that off in the minor leagues, going .293 with 21 home runs in 223 minor league games. His ability to stroke the ball to all fields will serve him well at this level.
