VIDEO: Albert Almora Jr. Hits First Career Grand Slam to Break Cubs' Tie With Phillies
By Scott Rogust
At one point, the Chicago Cubs were down 3-0 to the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night. The Cubs would tie things up after a three-run bomb from first baseman Anthony Rizzo. In the bottom of the fifth inning, outfielder Albert Almora Jr. ended the stalemate with a grand slam off pitcher Cole Irvin to put the Cubs up 7-3.
To make the occasion that much more special, it was the first career grand slam for Almora. And it came at the right time for the Cubs, who look to continue their reign atop the NL Central. Have a night, Almora!
