This only happens in Hollywood scripts, but should we be surprised that Albert Pujols did something special in his return to Busch Stadium for the first time since leaving and signing with the Los Angeles Angels in 2011? I'm not. In the top of the seventh inning of his second contest in town, Pujols blasted a no-doubter to left field and the home fans went nuts, no doubt evoking memories of old. Take a look:

Not only did he go deep, but Cardinals fans wanted a curtain call and Pujols obliged, coming out of the dugout and waiving his helmet to the crowd.

This is the same crowd that was cheering for Pujols to beat out an infield single in the first game of the series, which he did. The Cardinals legend then went bridge. Of course they should, and did, go crazy.

I don't think you'll ever see home fans cheer so much for an opposing player, but that's how much Pujols still means to the city of St. Louis and all of Cardinals nation.

What a beautiful thing.
