VIDEO: Albert Pujols Makes Red Sox Pay After Ump Mark Ripperger Misses Obvious 3rd Strike vs Angels
By Mark Powell

Not the best moment for umpire Mark Ripperger. The Boston Red Sox are clinging for dear life after a post trade deadline slide. With the division all but out of reach and the Wild Card slipping away, Boston needs to take advantage against teams below them in the standings, such as the Los Angeles Angels. Ripperger isn't doing Boston any favors with this missed strike three call against Justin Upton.
Christian Vazquez thought that was strike three to Justin Upton (6). He was so convinced that he threw the ball casually to first base.

An awful miss from Mark Ripperger to extend the 1st. #RedSox pic.twitter.com/mJzI2rnuIE
Christian Vazquez was so convinced it was a strike that he threw the ball down to first base, only to realize that, in fact, the umpire had made an egregious call.
Later in the inning, Albert Pujols made the Sox pay.
The MACHINE?

The Machine with a shot over the monstah!
The Sox have every right to feel robbed early in this one.
