VIDEO: Alex Bregman Solo Bomb Puts Astros Ahead in Game 6
By Jerry Trotta
Stephen Strasburg wasn't fooling anybody in the Houston Astros lineup in the first inning of World Series Game 6 on Tuesday night. George Springer got things started with a scorching leadoff double off the left field wall and was ultimately driven home on a Jose Altuve sacrifice fly. After a loud out on a DEEP fly ball by Yuli Gurriel, Alex Bregman remained hot with a towering solo home run to left field to put the Astros on top 2-1 over the Washington Nationals.
Perhaps he was working off some rust, but Strasburg better clean things up from here on out, as he was serving up sheer meatballs in the first frame. Bregman's eyes must have lit up on that tailing fastball right down broadway and he promptly parked it in the bleachers.
We can't be sure, but this power surge might indicate that Bregman's outfit superstition is full-proof.
