VIDEO: Alex Cora Drops Funny Quote After Incredible Offensive Display in London Series
By Jerry Trotta

The hot take that baseball is slow and boring is marginally understandable, but at the same time it's equally stale and lavishly detestable. It's simply not meant to ooze thrills and edge-of-your-seat excitement on every pitch. Sure, the game could use more flare and theatrics, BUT what transpired across the pond on Saturday between the Yankees and Red Sox was borderline unwatchable. Just ask Boston manager Alex Cora.
Quote of the night belongs to Alex Cora: –Do you think this game might have left the impression to British fans that all baseball games are like this? AC: “Hopefully not.” #LondonSeries pic.twitter.com/u6JGUVe2SY

Thank you, Alex.
Cora hits it right on the nose.
A box score should never see a 17-13 final score, no matter if the game is played in London or Coors Field. The highly-anticipated clash took 4 hours and 42 minutes to conclude! It now stands as the third-longest 9-inning game in MLB history.
The Yankees defeat the Red Sox 17-13 in London, the 2nd-highest combined score in Yankees-Red Sox series history and the highest combined score for a game played outside of the U.S. or Canada.

30-run, 37-hit marathons are not what baseball is about. Yes, this game should serve as a significant outlier, but give us a 2-1 pitching duel any day of the week.
This weekend's London Series between the bitter rivals marked Major League Baseball's first inquiry to Europe. Let's hope that America's pastime didn't leave an enduring, sour imprint in the mouths of today's first-time ticket holders.
