VIDEO: Alex Cora Makes Amazing Gesture to Young Red Sox Fan on His Birthday
By Scott Rogust

Yes, the goal for Major League Baseball teams and players is to win the World Series. But an equally important goal is to create memories for young fans who idolize the league's athletes. Prior to Tuesday night's game between the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals, a young Red Sox fan held up a sign at Kauffman Stadium expressing his desire to meet his favorite player, Mookie Betts, on his birthday. Boston manager Alex Cora saw his sign, fulfilled his wish, and then some. Not only did the young boy meet Betts, but he was introduced to the entire team.
This is why Alex Cora is awesome. This kid made a sign that said “it’s my bday and I really want to meet Mookie.” So... #redsox #whynotbenice pic.twitter.com/SYezNtQ67D

Now this is what it's all about. A moment this young fan will never forget.

Imagine having your parents surprise you with tickets to see your favorite baseball team on your birthday. Not only do you get to watch them play from the stands, but you actually meet them on the field.
Kudos to Alex Cora for making this child's dream come true.
