What's it like to recover from a gruesome leg injury? Liz Smith gave us an idea with this video of her husband. One year ago, Washington Redskins quarterback Alex Smith suffered a horrific compound fracture and many around the NFL viewed it as a career-ending injury. Smith is still working his way back a full 365 days later, and here's how it's gone for him:

An absolutely wild ride.
Smith only started to throw the football just under a month ago, which tells you how long and arduous this process has truly been.

Since breaking his leg after a promising 6-3 start, the Redskins have lost 15 out of 17 games and the franchise has become arguably the worst in the NFL.
Chants of "Sell the team!" have summarized a rough year for Redskins fans, but watching this video of Smith's brave and courageous recovery should make them feel a little better.
