VIDEO: Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith Go Back-to-Back to Start the Game Against the Giants
By Joey Mauceri
It's hard to start a game much better than the Mets just did. Just two batters into the Mets' half of the first inning, New York found themselves in front of the Giants with a 2-0 lead, courtesy of back-to-back homers by Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith.
Some pretty impressive yard-work right there by the Mets.
Rosario's bomb was a 400-foot oppo taco to right-center field, an impressive jam for his 8th round-tripper of the season. Smith launched his jam to roughly the same spot, where there was no doubt it would clear the fence.
Jeff Samardzija would love to rewind that first inning, as he surrendered two long balls before the first out of the game was even recorded.
