VIDEO: Andrew Benintendi Starts Strong With 2-Run Homer Over the Green Monster
By Michael Luciano

Not even a hot Texas Rangers team or a resurgent Mike Minor can stand in the way of Andrew Benintendi and the Boston Red Sox. The über-consistent outfielder launched his seventh home run of the year off of Minor in the first inning, putting the Red Sox up 2-0.

Minor put up a 93 mph meatball right down the middle, which the former Golden Spikes winner promptly deposited in the left field seats.

Even though Benintendi hits 60 points worse against left-handed pitchers (.233) than right-handers (.293) and has hit 5 of his 44 career home runs off of lefties, he put enough of a charge into this one to get it over the Green Monster.
That was the 6th career home run (of 45) against a lefty pitcher for #RedSox Andrew Benintendi, his first since facing #Orioles Donnie Hart last August 10.

When the defending champs are at their best, the top of the order just keeps coming after you in waves. If their trio of talented outfielders hits their stride at the same time, look out.
