VIDEO: Andy Reid Offered Vague But Encouraging Update on Patrick Mahomes' Knee Before Halftime
By Scott Rogust

The football world was shaken to its very core after seeing Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes down on the field with a knee injury. Medical staff appeared to pop Mahomes' right knee cap back into place, before the defending NFL MVP walked to the locker room, where he was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game. As halftime hit with the Chiefs holding a 20-6 lead over the Denver Broncos, head coach Andy Reid provided a positive update to FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews, saying "he's going to be okay." Reid also revealed that Mahomes told him, "I'm going to be fine coach."

Reid isn't just providing the world with coach-speak. The general consensus is that Mahomes avoided serious injury.
According to Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports, early indications is that Mahomes has a dislocated knee and that it looks like it isn't fractured, which is a positive sign. But an MRI on Friday will determine if that's truly the case, and more importantly, if there's any ligament damage.
Hearing early indications are that Patrick Mahomes has a dislocated knee but at the moment it looks like it isn’t fractured, per a source. MRI coming tomorrow when we’ll know more, but it’s a positive early sign.

Mahomes suffered the knee injury after attempting a sneak up the middle on fourth down, resulting in an offensive lineman falling on the back of his knee, causing it to contort.
We will continue to provide you with further updates on Patrick Mahomes once they are provided.
