VIDEO: Angels' Trevor Cahill Failed Miserably in an Attempt to Flip Ball to First Baseman
By Parker White
Los Angeles Angels veteran starter Trevor Cahill was having no trouble in the early going against the Minnesota Twins, but a dribbler in no-man's-land in the second inning eventually tripped him up. Cahill attempted one of those no-look flips to get the out at first base, but it didn't go well at all. Take a look:
Cahill found the ball behind him instead of his first baseman, and his glove went flying in the other direction off his hand to boot. What a perfect fail.
Not only did he embarrass himself with the attempted flip, but C.J. Cron (who reached base on a wild pitch after striking out) and batter Jonathan Schoop advanced on the base paths and made it second and third with one out.
That set up a two-run double by the next batter Ehire Adrianza, giving the Twins a 2-0 lead.
Maybe consider focusing harder on the fundamentals, Trevor.
