VIDEO: Astros' George Springer Ties ALCS Game 2 With Solo Blast off Adam Ottavino
By Scott Rogust
We've got a tie game in Game 2 of the ALCS. The New York Yankees held a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning over the Houston Astros when Yankees manager Aaron Boone took out reliever Chad Green and called upon Adam Ottavino to face off against Astros leadoff hitter George Springer. On the very first pitch, Ottavino laid a bad slider down the middle of the plate, which Springer sent to left-center field for a solo home run.
Aaron Boone may have played this one a bit too by-the-book. Chad Green was rolling and only 26 pitches deep, and though Springer was 0-for-3 with three K's against Ottavino, that changed with one hanger.
