VIDEO: Astros Introduce Deadline Acquisitions Including Zack Greinke to Media at Press Conference

The Houston Astros swung for the fences at the trade deadline, acquiring four noteworthy players, chief among them being former Arizona Diamondbacks starter Zack Greinke. GM Jeff Luhnow got the opportunity to introduce Greinke along with catcher Martin Maldonado and two former Toronto Blue Jays pitchers in Aaron Sanchez and Joe Biagini.

Maldonado, who was an Astro as recently as last year, was acquired from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for utility player Tony Kemp. The Astros sent outfielder Derek Fisher to Toronto for Biagini and Sanchez, both of whom Lunhow is hoping can be resurrected by Brent Strom.

The paradigm-shifter, however, is Greinke, who was acquired from Arizona in exchange for a haul of prospects including Top 100 guys like Corbin Martin, right-hander JB Bukauskus, and slugging first baseman and corner outfielder Seth Beer.

Greinke and his 2.90 ERA will join Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Wade Miley in a loaded Astros rotation.

Luhnow managed to add one of the best starters in the game, more pitching depth, and a solid backup catcher all without sacrificing top prospects like Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, and Forrest Whitley.

Take a bow.
