VIDEO: Austin Riley is Ripping Through His Rehab Assignment in Return to Braves
By Daniel Marcillo

The Atlanta Braves already had a potent offense and possibly getting one of their top young hitters back can make their lineup even deadlier. Austin Riley is on fire during his minor league rehab stint, hitting almost .500.

That's encouraging for the Braves.
Riley was crushing homers all over the place before he hit a wall and eventually lost some playing time before landing on the Injured List. Through his first 20 games, he was batting .329 with nine home runs.
But then he cooled off very quickly. During the following 46 games, he only hit .197 with eight home runs and looked nothing like the guy that was injecting energy into the offense.

Riley suffered a knee injury and landed on the IL Aug. 4. He seems to be on the mend and perhaps some rest coupled with reps in the minors could get him back on track with the big league club.
