VIDEO: Austin Riley's Legend Grows With Game-Winning Single in 13th Inning
By Will Fowler
Already off to a scorching start to his MLB career, Atlanta Braves outfielder Austin Riley continued to bolster his case for a permanent starting spot on Thursday when he slapped an 0-2 fastball from Reyes Moronta the other way to give Atlanta the lead in the 13th inning.
Having already homered earlier in the game to even the score at four, Riley's eventual game-winner capped off an impressive 3-for-6 day at the plate, further proving to management why he deserves his starting role even when Ender Inciarte returns from the injured list.
Atlanta went on to win this on by a score of 5-4. Just another feather in the cap of one of baseball's brightest up-and-comers.
