Despite the fact that Texas hasn't necessarily been a genuine threat to Oklahoma in the Big 12 for quite some time, the Red River Rivalry has still delivered in terms of bitterness and drama. And even though Baker Mayfield, never shy of expressing his own opinion, is now two years removed from lining up under center for the Sooners, the Cleveland Browns quarterback was QUICK to slight Longhorns QB Sam Ehlinger for prematurely claiming that "the University of Texas is back" at the 2019 Sugar Bowl after they stunned Georgia.

"They said that when they beat Notre Dame a couple years ago in 2016 and they won two or three games after that,” Mayfield told Sportsalk 1400 in Norman, Okla. "I'm so sick of it...His opinion on anything winning does't matter...He doesn't like me and I hope he doesn't like me either."

Yes, Baker's emergence after he replaced Tyrod Taylor in Cleveland last season was one of the most compelling storylines of 2018. But after these quotes, we wish it were humanly possible that Mayfield could suit up one more time for a Sooners-Longhorns clash.

At the very least, we want the former Heisman Trophy winner present for the annual showdown...if the schedules work out, of course. If Baker is able to make it happen, and we know he's going to try, you can count of the QBs having a few choice words for each other near the sidelines.
