VIDEO: Bears Star LB Roquan Smith Absolutely Torches Panthers' O-Line and Destroys QB Kyle Allen
By Jerry Trotta
After a quiet and frustrating inception to his NFL career, rookie linebacker Roquan Smith ended up leading the Bears' stalwart defense in tackles (121) and solo tackles (89), while ranking third in sacks (5) last season. To nobody's surprise, the former Georgia stud is looking to morph that momentum into his sophomore campaign with Chicago. Well, the 22-year-old got off to a roaring start during the Bears first preseason game against the Panthers on Thursday, finding a gaping hole up the middle to LEVEL Carolina quarterback Kyle Allen.
Oh no.
Allen didn't even have time to check his progressions before Smith was breathing down his neck and Chicago fans will surely be clamoring for more of this from their young linebacker.
