VIDEO: Bears Victimized by 2nd Ridiculous Roughing Call vs Broncos on Normal Eddie Goldman Tackle
By Jerry Trotta

It would be flat out erroneous to say that the NFL doesn't deserve credit for making its game safer in recent years. However, tacky unnecessary roughness penalties have taken the league by storm in 2019, and the Chicago Bears were just oppressed for the second time on Sunday. Check out defensive tackle Eddie Goldman get flagged for a roughing the passer penalty after a completely clean hit on Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco.
WOW! Eddie Goldman was called for "roughing the passer" on this play....

What else is Goldman supposed to do here? He wraps his arms around Flacco's torso, makes sure to avoid contact with his helmet, and doesn't even drive the QB into the turf.
We wholeheartedly comprehend the league's admirable emphasis on player safety, but these kind of penalties have no business being called.
